Tile repair & regrouting
Cracked tiles, loose pieces, crumbling grout and tired caulk — fixed properly, often in a day, without redoing the whole room.
What we do
Tile Repair & Regrouting
Not every tile problem needs a renovation. A few cracked tiles, a grout line that keeps crumbling or a shower corner that has gone black can often be repaired for a fraction of the cost of replacing the room — and the result looks and performs like new.
What matters is diagnosing the cause first. Grout that fails repeatedly in the same spot is usually telling you something about movement, water or the substrate. We look for that before we repair, so you are not paying to fix the same thing twice.

How it works
Our process
Look for the cause
We inspect the area, sound the tile for hollow spots and identify whether the problem is cosmetic or a sign of something behind the surface.
Tell you straight
If a repair will hold, we repair it. If the area needs rebuilding to be fixed properly, we say so and explain why.
Repair carefully
Damaged tile is removed without harming its neighbors, the substrate is corrected, and matching tile is set.
Grout, caulk & clean
Fresh grout, flexible caulk at movement joints, and a cleaned, sealed finish that blends with the surrounding surface.
Pricing
What affects the cost
Repair pricing depends on:
- How much area is affected
- Whether matching tile is available — we can often source a close match or use a spare from the original install
- Whether the substrate underneath is sound
- Full regrout vs. spot repair
- Access, especially in showers and around fixtures
- Whether a leak has caused damage that has to be addressed first
We do not quote from a photo or a phone call alone. We visit, measure, look at what is underneath where we can, and give you a written estimate that explains the scope — so you can compare it honestly against any other quote you receive.
Tile Repair & Regrouting FAQ
Can you match my existing tile?
Often we can find a close match, and if you have spare tile from the original installation, even better. Where an exact match is impossible, we talk through options such as a feature strip or replacing a defined section.
Should I regrout or retile?
If the tile is sound and only the grout has failed, regrouting is a great value. If tiles are loose across the area or water has gotten behind them, retiling is the honest answer.
Why does the caulk in my shower keep turning black?
That is usually mildew in a joint that stays wet, sometimes made worse by using grout where flexible caulk belongs. We remove it, treat the area and re-caulk with the right product.
Do you take small repair jobs?
Yes. Small jobs get the same care, scheduling and communication as full remodels — several of our clients first called us for a repair.
How quickly can you come out?
Call or text and we will tell you honestly when we can be there. Active leaks get priority.
