Bathroom tile installation in Greater Boston

Floors, walls, showers and vanity areas — planned, prepped and set so the room still looks right ten years from now.

What we do

Bathroom Tile Installation

A bathroom is the smallest room in the house and the hardest to tile well. Everything is visible: how the pattern meets the corner, whether the niche lines up with a grout joint, how the floor transitions to the hallway. And everything is exposed to water, which is why what happens before the first tile goes up matters as much as the tile itself.

We handle the whole room — removing the old surfaces, checking and correcting the substrate, waterproofing wet areas, setting tile, grouting, caulking and reinstalling or replacing fixtures. Because we also do the plumbing, carpentry and painting, you are not left coordinating three contractors around one small room.

How it works

Our process

Walkthrough & measure

We look at the existing room, check what is under the tile where we can, measure, and talk through what you want the finished space to feel like.

Written estimate

You get a clear scope — materials, prep, fixtures, timeline — so you know exactly what is and is not included.

Prep & waterproof

Demolition, substrate repair or replacement, and waterproofing in every wet area before any tile is set.

Tile, grout & finish

Layout confirmed with you, tile set, grout and caulk applied, fixtures installed, and the room cleaned before we hand it back.

Pricing

What affects the cost

Bathroom tile pricing depends less on the tile you pick than most people expect. The things that move a quote are:

  • The size of the room and how much of it gets tiled
  • What has to come out first, and what we find underneath
  • Substrate repair, leveling and waterproofing needs
  • Tile format and pattern — large-format, mosaic, herringbone and natural stone all take different amounts of labor
  • Plumbing changes, such as moving a drain or converting a tub to a shower
  • Fixtures, niches, benches and custom details

We do not quote from a photo or a phone call alone. We visit, measure, look at what is underneath where we can, and give you a written estimate that explains the scope — so you can compare it honestly against any other quote you receive.

Bathroom Tile Installation FAQ

How long does a bathroom tile project take?

A floor-only project can be finished in a few days. A full bathroom with demolition, waterproofing, tile, fixtures and paint usually runs a few weeks, depending on scope and material lead times. You get a schedule before we start.

Do I need to buy the tile myself?

You can, and many clients enjoy that part. Mari also helps with selections — tile, grout color, trim pieces and layout — so the materials work together and the quantities are right.

Can you convert our tub into a walk-in shower?

Yes. That involves plumbing, framing, waterproofing and tile, all of which we coordinate as one project. See our shower tile page for how those builds are put together.

Will the bathroom be usable during the work?

Usually not while the main work is happening, which is why we give you realistic dates up front and keep the schedule tight.

Do you do small bathroom jobs?

Yes — a single floor, a tub surround, regrouting or a vanity swap are all welcome projects.
